Il primo accenno giornalistico alla resilienza compare nel 1986 in un articolo dedicato a Sam Shepard. Del commediografo statunitense si descrivono i personaggi, sorprendentemente capaci di sostenere le sollecitazioni violente cui sono sottoposti: “Magari si piegano – un po’ – alle necessità della vita.

Quando usare la parola resilienza?

Molto usata nella versione inglese “resilience”, significa “capacità di resistenza”, “capacità di recupero rapido”, “elasticità”. In Italiano il termine “resilienza” veniva usato finora soprattutto per designare la qualità fisica di certi materiali di non rompersi in seguito a un urto violento.
